Seafaring Sunday: The Sea Dog Becomes A Knight

On this day in 1581, Elizabeth I knighted Francis Drake for his service to Britain and to her Queen. Of course, this sea dog had made Elizabeth rich through his efforts as a privateer so it does seem only fair. Happy Easter to those among you celebrating. I shall spy ye in the week ahead.

Ahoy, Pauline! Although I thought Mairin's suggestion of "Reliving History" was a good one for your Sunday posts (it kind of works as an overall subtitle for your blog) "Seafaring Sunday" works perfectly (and is definitely better than my suggestion of "Nautical Nonsense")... Nicely done, Pirate Queen!

Ahoy, Timmy! Well, in all fairness, it's always nautical nonsense around about Triple P, isn't it?
